Cieľom navrhovaného projektu je skúmať a navrhovať nové dátovo orientované postupy v oblasti automatizácie, monitorovania a riadenia v procesnom priemysle tak, aby zvyšovali účinnosť, ziskovosť, bezpečnosť a konkurencieschopnosť. Zameriame sa na procesy s prestupom látky a tepla, kde je možné dosiahnuť výrazné zlepšenie účinnosti. Tieto inherentne zložité procesy vykazujú veľkú mieru nelinearít či hybridné správanie spôsobujúce problémy s ich riadením. Optimálne riadenie a monitorovanie bude zahŕňať interakcie metód aplikovanej štatistiky, spracovanie veľkých údajov (big data), dátovo orientovaného odhadu stavu, inferenčných senzorov, dynamickú optimalizáciu a prediktívne riadenie. Teoretické výsledky projektu budú sprístupnené širokej odbornej verejnosti v podobe softvérových balíkov s otvoreným kódom a ich vhodnosť bude overená v laboratórnych podmienkach a na údajoch od priemyselných partnerov.
